Using a Makita 5000 Series Portable Concrete Grinder to Prepare a Home Office Floor
Smooth Even Coats are Crucial to a Successful Epoxy Floor Application

A small office floor, less than 300 square feet, was hand ground with dustless diamond grinders. Due to the high moisture readings obtained after RH tests were performed by us, a urethane mortar base coat was installed to control moisture issues. This was installed using a serrated squeegee to control proper coating thickness. The wet coating was loop rolled to flatten out serration lines and remove entrapped air. Decorative vinyl chips were broadcast into the wet coating. A clear epoxy topcoat was applied followed by a resilient urethane coating.
