WAREHOUSE FLOORS

The epoxy floor coating of large spaces such as warehouses, distribution facilities and bulk storage spaces presents unique problems.  The logistics of working around shelving, machinery and equiptment, preserving the cleanliness of raw materials and inventory, and working in coordination with building management can be overwhelming.  Our success with these projects lies in our ablility to provide sufficient equiptment for efficient surface preparation.  This, combined with our mobilization of trained and experienced applicators, will ensure a floor coating of the highest quality done on time, and on budget.

Warehouse Floor Shotblasted to Remove Contaminants and Expose Damage

THE PROBLEM

A large building was purchased to be a warehouse for finished goods awaiting distribution to the final customer.  The floor was dirty from the previous owner's operation.  Also, there were areas of damaged concrete and many holes and cracks.  A cleanable, light reflective floor was required.

THE PROJECT - 135,000 Sq. Ft. Storage & Distribution Facility - Norwich, CT

THE SOLUTION

The floor was shotblasted to remove the contamination and expose all damage.  The cracks were repaired with an elastomeric epoxy.  The holes were filled in with epoxy repair grout and the larger damaged areas were repaired with cementitious patching compounds.  The floor was then primed and epoxy top coated.

THE PROBLEM

Dust contamination and a highly inefficient use of available warehouse space.

Floor Primed and Coated with Medium Gray General Polymers Epoxy

THE SOLUTION

We shotblasted all concrete to remove contaminants and provide a clean, coatable surface. The floor was primed and coated with a medium gray General Polymers epoxy.

This not only reduced dust contamination but also greatly increased the brightness in the warehouse because of the improved light reflectivity.  Safety yellow epoxy striping was then applied to map out the organization and traffic flow of the warehouse.

Large Commercial Tenant Space Shotblasted to Prepare Concrete Floor

THE SOLUTION

The concrete floor was shotblasted, primed, epoxy coated and urethane top coated.  Although this was done prior to the tenant moving in, work had to be coordinated with all of the other trades working in the space. Careful planning was necessary.  Once we began surface preparation, the area had to remain "off limits" to everybody until final top coat was applied and cured.
